Being thorough.

Why I’m Proud to Be Known as the Thorough Home Inspector
I’ve worked in many capacities in local construction; from roofing, siding, window and door replacement, remodeling, stone and tile, wood flooring, and more. I've always been wired to do things the right way and that's how I do inspections. I decided early on that I was never going to compromise my values to receive more referrals from realtors. Nothing is more important to me than doing the best I can for my clients.
Being thorough doesn’t slow down the closing.
A lot of people worry that a detailed inspector will kill the deal or drag things out forever. In most cases, that’s just not true. Most homes have the usual wear and tear, small fixes, and maintenance stuff that buyers and sellers can work out without much trouble. A good thorough report actually helps the closing go smoother because everyone knows exactly what they’re dealing with upfront.
The only time things slow down is when we find serious neglect, or repairs that are going to cost more time or money than the buyer is ready for. Even then, many clients go through with the transaction.
I can be the a very thorough inspector and still give you the fastest report.
One thing I’m really proud of is that I deliver some of the most detailed reports around, but I also get them back to you crazy fast — the same day, most days before I even leave the property.
That’s possible because I know what I'm looking for — I explain what I find in plain English so you actually understand what it means for you.
Coastal homes take a beating —
Living out here on the Outer Banks means dealing with salt air, strong winds, heavy rain, and high humidity. Vacation homes and investment properties get even more wear and tear because nobody’s living there full-time to stay on top of maintenance.
Because of that, we see more neglect, water issues, and faster deterioration than in a lot of other places. But here’s the thing: don't brush it off as “oh, that’s normal for the beach.”
Neglect is still neglect.
Water damage is still water damage.
Wear and tear from age or weather is still an important factor to consider.
If I see it, it goes in the report with clear photos and straightforward explanations. You get to decide what matters to you and what you want to do about it. I’m not here to filter the bad stuff or make the report look prettier — I’m here to give you the full, honest picture.
You get every penny’s worth.
When you hire me, you’re getting local knowledge that comes from years of actually working on these coastal homes, a super detailed report, fast turnaround, and someone who’s available if you have questions later.
The feedback I hear most is that people really appreciate knowing the whole story —
You deserve the full story. I’m here to give it to you.
